The Leading Ladies Initiative
Entrepreneurs in training
Connecting young minority ladies with business and educational opportunities to develop their leadership skills and help them reach their potential.
The young underserved ladies of today can be the future leaders of tomorrow
We believe that many people never reach their potential due to a lack of skills, resources and mentorship. We also believe people like you can make a huge difference in the lives of these people through your contribution of wisdom, skills and resources.
The Leading Ladies Initiative is designed to connect young minority ladies with business and educational opportunities in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) fields.
STEM jobs are in demand and growing. Over the next decade STEM jobs are projected to outgrow non-STEM jobs, with positions in computing, engineering, and advanced manufacturing leading the way. (Via Change the Equation)
African-American and Latino workers now represent almost 1/3 of the general working population but a much smaller percentage have advanced manufacturing, computing and engineering jobs. (US News, 2015)

The trends are clear. While STEM jobs and minority populations grow, underserved students are still not given the support to understand what it takes to succeed in STEM fields. We believe people like you hold the key to their success.
We are looking for business leaders, partners and volunteers in the Loudon County, VA or metro DC area to identify unique opportunities for underserved people who may otherwise have their talent and potential wasted.
Ways you can help
There are two major ways you can help.
Providing internships or educational opportunities. Do you have any opportunities in Loudoun County, VA or the metro DC area? We are looking to place young ladies in an internship program or educational opportunity at businesses this summer. Example: 6-8 week internships can make a powerful difference in these girls’ lives.
- Donations. Providing training materials, transportation and other resources requires funds we can only get through donations or grants. Your donation can directly lead to the transformation of a person’s life.
With your support we can develop, train, and equip the underserved ladies of today to have a bright future.
